Sleuth Software expands into Michigan

ALBUQUERQUE, NM, November 1, 2008: Sleuth will soon be part of law enforcement in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. After more than a ten year search, the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office recently chose Sleuth Software as their tool of choice for Records and Jail Management. The installation, scheduled for late this year, is a milestone for Sleuth which has recently incorporated features and reporting to comply with Michigan state requirements.

In the past, Sleuth has been marketed primarily in the southern and western U.S. Marquette County Sheriff will be Sleuth’s first introduction into the north central and eastern states. Sleuth Sales Manager, Chuck Wilson said “We’re excited to be expanding Sleuth into new areas of the country.”

Marquette County Jail Administrator, Capt. Gregg Gustafson said Sleuth appealed to them because it seemed easy to use, learn and train. He cited affordability and Sleuth’s reporting flexibility as the other key factors in their decision. “In those years we were looking, the programs offered no flexibility – you couldn’t create the reports you needed,” Gustafson said. “We were hoping to find one company that could provide us with software for both records and jail; Sleuth provided us that. We liked the flexibility of the reports – the way things can be modified to meet our needs.”

To ensure compliancy with Michigan reporting requirements, Sleuth JMS will be creating Jail Population Inmate System (JPIS) reports which provide demographic information to the Michigan Department of Corrections. Gustafson said in the past, the monthly reports were time consuming but with Sleuth, “can be done at the push of a button.”

Electronic submission of state required MICR (Michigan Incident Crime Reporting) and an automatic download of Sleuth jail information to VINE (Victim Information and Notification Everyday), a federal program which gives crime victims access to inmate’s incarceration status, will also be integrated. In addition, the Sheriff’s Office will be able to complete and print Michigan state accident (wreck) reports directly from the computer.

Sleuth Software offers a full suite of software products for law enforcement, dispatch centers, jails and courts plus mobile police solutions. Spokesperson Cheryl Boylan said the company hopes to increase its client base in the north central and eastern states by incorporating reporting for additional states which will better serve agencies throughout the region.

ETS Development officially becomes Sleuth Software

ALBUQUERQUE, NM, SEPTEMBER 29, 2008: Company President Chris Turrentine announced today that ETS Development Group has officially changed its name to Sleuth Software. The move comes a year after the company acquired the rights to the nationally known Sleuth line of software, a suite of law enforcement computer applications for public safety.

The name change is intended to better identify the company with its Sleuth product line, which includes software for dispatch centers, police records management, detention facilities and municipal courts. Company representatives said adopting Sleuth Software as the company’s official name will more accurately represent its key business focus, as well as provide better name recognition with existing clients.

In a statement, Mr. Turrentine said, “ETS wants to be known by the software it sells. The Sleuth Software name is known throughout the country, whereas ETS is known more mainly in the south. Name recognition is important no matter what you are trying to sell. We believe being known by the software we provide is a benefit to us and to our customers.”

The name change, which went into effect today, will primarily result in cosmetic and paperwork changes; with the company’s Sleuth logo and name replacing those of ETS. The company’s website has been moved to http://www.sleuthsoftware.com. Company ownership, management and operation will remain unchanged.

“Sleuth Software’s mission is to provide Public Safety software that enables our customers to perform their jobs quicker, easier and more efficiently. As we continue to enhance the Sleuth Software suite, this mission will continue to prosper. The name change shows that providing such software has our 100% dedication,” added Mr. Turrentine.
